Wisdom Through Longevity
Health and wellness are a lifetime endeavor of mine from the time I was young. In high school, swimming and track were my favorite activities, soon after that, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and went on to be a Recon Marine in the 3/3. More recently, I’ve invested my time into competitive racing and have participated in numerous events such as the Tough Mudder and the Spartan Beast. Recently, I was able to place second in my age group for the competitive division within the Spartan racing events. In the Michigan Spartan Sprint, I placed ninth in my age group division, which put me in the top ten of the Over-Fifty Elite racers.
In 2018, I completed and became a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200), allowing me to find a greater balance through regular practice and meditation in addition to my rigorous training, but I wanted more knowledge of health and wellness, and to share my experience and training with those around me. That's what lead me to the Kion Coaching Certification. Kion has helped me put my studies and personal program together in a balanced system of nutrition, training, recovery, sleep, as well as ancestral wisdom.
During Kion training, my granddaughter, River Sage Roche, was diagnosed with rare brain glioma (DIPG) I made it my mission, along with my son, to slow this metabolic disease down and to give her if anything, the best quality of life possible while battling her horrific disease. I spent day and night researching and contacting anyone that might have information to help us, help River. We ultimately lost her on December 11, 2018, but we did give her the best quality of life we could during her last days with us here on earth. So through this unbearable challenge for our family, my son Rob and I have grown more then we knew we needed to, and we look forward to sharing what we learned and practiced medically and spiritually with anyone that is in need. At 54 years old, I am venturing out of my comfort zone, by selling my family-owned (119-year-old) business to do what I feel I've been destined to do. My sweet River is a constant reminder that life is precious and short, and I know she would want us to help those around us, and do so in her memory.
I understand the balance between the drive needed for extreme endurance events and ensuring that proper rest and recovery is utilized. I want to share my passion and help you to excel, in daily life, relationships, health, fitness, and your overall well-being. I know that everyone, at any age, can enjoy longevity and the superior quality of life that we are all meant to have! #worksmarternotharder #rocheapproach #rochestrong #rocherecovery
